Youth Center Information
McConnell’s Youth Activities Center is located in base housing and provides programs for youth ages 5-18. The Center houses a basketball court, game room, computer lab, arts and crafts area, teen room and snack bar. A wide range of educational, recreational, social and physical fitness activities are also available. The Youth Center has been affiliated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America since 1997 and incorporates their youth development strategy and standards mandated by Air Force regulations in their overall program.
 
They also receive a monthly allocation from United Way of the Plains. As a Boys and Girls Club affiliate, the Youth Center utilizes the five core program areas: character and leadership development; educational and career development; the arts; health and life skills; and sports recreation and fitness. The Teen Supreme Keystone Club, Torch Club for preteens, Fine Arts Exhibit, Photography Contest and Youth of the Year are just a few of the programs. Volunteering and community service projects play an important role in both the Keystone and Torch Club.

Tuesday:
4 – 5pm Torch Club Youth Leadership (9 – 13 years)
6 – 7pm Keystone Club Youth Leadership (14 – 18 years)

Wednesday:
4 – 5pm Club Tech Music, create your own sound (9-15)
5 – 6pm Boys Club, games and activities for boys only (9-15)(preteens)

Thursday:
4 – 5pm Arts & Crafts

• 11 Sept: Woodwoking
• 18 Sept: Clay Molding
• 25 Sept: Sewing
5 – 6pm Imagemakers Photography (9-15)

Friday:

Preteens are not allowed in the Youth Center after 7pm on a school night.
